Metoclopramide Indications

A

Nausea/Vomiting associated with:

  • Chest pain/discomfort of a cardiac nature
  • Opiod administration for pain
  • Previously diagnosed migrane
  • Severe gastroenteritis
  • Eye trauma
  • Cytotoxic or radiotherpy
  • Treatment or prophylaxis in awake spinal immobilised pts

A
  • Suspected bowel obstruction or perforation
  • Children
  • GI haemorrhage

  • Undiagnosed abdo pain
  • Adolescents (<20yrs)
  • Administer slowly over one minute to minimise risk of extrapyramidial reactions
