Define refugee
Someone escaping danger or persecution protected by law
Define asylum seeker
Claims to be a refugee but hasn’t been granted that status from government yet
Define migrant
Moves to another country for work etc, and can move back to their home country freely
What benefits do asylum seekers have?
-right to healthcare
-£49 a week and £300 maternity pay
-NOT allowed to work
-no choice in where they live
What benefits do refused asylum seekers get?
-right to healthcare but must pay
-not eligible for any other benefits

-free healthcare
