16
Q

What call-out should be done by the PM when climbing/descending before reaching the aiming altitude?

A

“One thousand to go” (1000ft before)

17
Q

Standard call-out to set either “STD” or “QNH” at e.g. FL60/6000ft?

A

PF: “Set STD/QNH”

PM: “STD/QNH cross checked”

PF: “FL60/6000ft blue”

18
Q

How many batteries do we need to start the APU?

A

Both of them.

19
Q

8 possibilities of communication in case of loss of comms.

A
  1. CPDLC
  2. Free text messages box
  3. VHF 1
  4. VHF 2
  5. VHF 3
  6. HF (no A319; only A320-A321)
  7. Transponder (7500 // IDENT to acknowledge)
  8. At 3000ft or below ➡️ mobile phones
20
Q

Define STD and Obstacle strategy for an engine failure during cruise.

A

STD
- Thrust MCT
- A/THR off
- HDG pull and select as appropriate
- Determine LRC ceiling
- ATC notify

  • M.78/300kts
  • ALT FCU set and pull
  • When V/S becomes <500fpm
  • Set -500fpm and pull
  • A/THR ON
  • Back on cruise: SPD ON FCU = Manage

OBST.
- THR MCT
- A/THR off
- HDG pull and select as appropriate
- Determine DRIFT DOWN ALT (PERF - CRZ page)
- ATC notify

  • SPD GREEN DOT and pull
  • ALT FCU set and pull
  • When cleared of obst. return to STD STRATEGY
21
Q

When is the Ground Speed Mini function active (2)?

A
  1. Speed is managed
  2. FMS flight phase is the approach phase

GSmini function does not correct Green Dot, S and F speeds

22
Q

How is it displayed/represented the GS mini?

A

With a magenta triangle.

23
Q

What does the GSmini depends on?

A

It is based on the wind during approach ensuring that the aircraft is maintained above a minimum level that ensures standard aerodynamic margins versus the stall.

24
Q

[MEM ITEMS] Loss of braking.

A

If brakes are not working…
1) REV……….MAX

Activate alternate braking
2) Release pedals, A/SKID & N/W STRG off, brake pedals monitor 1000psi

If not working…
3) Small inputs parking brake

25
Q

[MEM ITEMS) EMER DESC.

A

1) OXY MASK………DON
2) ESTABLISH COMMUNICATION
3) EMER DESC………INITIATE

If A/THR not available:
4) THRUST……….IDLE
5) SPD BRAKES……….FULL

• When descent established:
SPEED……….MAX/APPROPRIATE

• If structural damage suspected:
ENG MODE SEL………IGN
ATC………..NOTIFY
EMER DESC PA………ANNOUNCE
XPNDR 7700………..CONSIDER
CREW OXY DILUTION………….NORM

• If CAB ALT above 14000ft:
OXY PAX MASKS MAN ON…………PRESS

26
Q

[MEM ITEMS) UNRELIABLE SPEED INDIC.

A

1) AP ………. OFF
2) A/THR ……….. OFF
3) FD ………… OFF
4) PITCH ……….. ADJUST
- Below THR RED ALT ………….. 15°/TOGA
- Above THR RED ALT and below FL100 ………….. 10°/CLB
- Above THR RED ALT and above FL100 ………….. 5°/CLB

5) FLAPS ……….. MAINTAIN CURRENT CONF
6) SPD BRKS ……… CHECK IF RETRACTED
7) L/G ………….. UP

27
Q

When do we know we are out of windshear conditions (FO)? (3)

A
  1. WINDSHEAR warning will stop.
  2. Good positive sustained RoC.
  3. Increasing airspeed trend.
28
Q

When does the PTU start running?

A

When the differential pressure is more than 500psi between G and Y systems.

29
Q

Is the PTU running during the first engine start?

A

No. PTU is inhibited during first engine start and automatically tested during the second engine start.
