Flashcards in Msn Eval Deck (21):
1

Day VMC

300 feet AGL, modified contour

2

Night VMC

altitude of 500 feet above the highest obstruction to flight, or 400 feet plus one chart contour interval above the highest depicted terrain contour, whichever is higher, within 3 NMs of planned route centerline

3

NVG altitude

altitude of 500 feet above the highest spot terrain elevation, or 400 feet plus one chart contour interval above the highest depicted terrain contour, whichever is higher, within 3 NM of planned route centerline

4

MSA

1000 feet above the highest obstruction within 5
NMs of planned route centerline

5

Min IFR

1000 feet above the highest obstruction within 5 NMs of planned route centerline (2000 feet in mountainous terrain). Rounded to the next higher 100 ft

6

ESA

1,000 feet (2,000 feet in mountainous
terrain) above the highest obstruction to flight within 22 NMs of planned route centerline

7

Temperature correction on LL

Add the values derived from the FIH temperature correction chart to the IMC and Night minimum enroute altitudes whenever the outside air temperature is 32°F/0°C or below

8

Peacetime route restrictions

-With less than 1 NM separation (3 NMs when in excess of 250 KCAS) when below
2000 feet AGL from known sensitive environmental (i.e., hospitals, fish hatcheries, large
poultry complexes, recreation areas, institutions, etc).
-With less than 3 NMs separation from prohibited airspace.
-With less than 3 NMs separation from nuclear power plants.
-Through restricted airspace without clearance.
-Below 1000 feet AGL within a 2000 feet radius over cities or towns shown as
magenta shaded areas on 1:500,000 (TPC) scale charts in addition to the restrictions in AFI 11-202V3 chapter 5.
-Over or through active live fire or impact areas that may not be specifically
designated as prohibited or restricted areas.
AFI11-2C-17V3 16 NOVEMBER 2011 191
-Below 500 feet AGL unless:
-Host nation rules specifically allow such VFR operations

9

Minimum chart requirements

turn points, IP, objective area, course line, navigation information, CHUM data and date, ESA and chart series/date

10

Tactical mode

changes the MFD colors so that
yellows and reds are above the aircraft and greens are below. Terrain more than 300 feet below the aircraft
is not displayed

11

Windshear alerting

Windshear alerting is available when in TOGA mode from 70 knots TAS up to 1500 feet radar altitude and APPR when radar altitude is between 1500−30 feet

12

NVG enroute procedures

3 NM prior to obstacle within 3 NM of centerline aircrew must see obstacle or climb to attain an altitude 500' above obstacle

13

Type/wx/squawk/max speed

IR/not available/ATC/ as required
VR/3000-5/4000/as required
SR/1500-3/1200/250

14

No barometric setting

Use GPS baro settings but add 1000' to MSA/ESA and min planned altitudes @ night

15

speed hierarchy

17

Touch and go

w/ IP, 7000' long rwy, 120' wide, 300-3/4, >= 12 RCR, 25 kts

18
