CONVERGENT objectivity
When multiple approaches independently arrive(converge) at the same result.
Ex. multiple fields agreeing on the age of the earth
MANIPULATIVE objectivity
Repeatedly and successfully manipulating (to arrive at) a result. (?)
CONCORDANT objectivity
When everyone agrees upon the same answer
DETACHED objectivity
Results not based on what is desired, “not letting feelings get in the way”
Ex. Medicine
VALUE-FREE objectivity
When values play no role in the reasoning process
VALUE-NEUTRAL objectivity
When values do play a role, but they are balanced with respect to a spectrum (considering a wide range of values)
PROCEDURAL objectivity
Following the same procedure to eliminate individual judgement, and always arriving at the same result.
INTERACTIVE objectivity
Not simple agreement, but agreement that comes about as a result of discussion and debate.
