OINA broken down Flashcards
(294 cards)
What is the origin of the trapezius?
The external occipital protuberance, ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes of C7 to T12
What is the insertion of the trapezius?
Posterior border of lateral third of the clavicle, acromion process, and the spine of the spatula
What is the innervation of the trapezius?
Spinal root of the accesory nerve CN XI
What is the action of the trapezius?
Elevation from the upper fibers, retraction from the middle fibers, depression from the lower fibers
What is the origin of latissimus dorsi
The spinous processes of the vertebrate T7-L5, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, inferior 3-4 ribs, and the inferior angle of the scapula
Insertion of latissimus dorsi
Medial lip of the intertubercular groove of the humerus (anterior to teres major)
What is the innervation of latissimus dorsi
Thoracodorsal nerve
Action of the latissimus dorsi
Extends, adducts, and medially rotates the humerus, elevates the body when climbing
Origin of the levator scapula
Posterior tubercles of transverse processes of C1-C4 vertebrae
Insertion of levator scapula
Superior part of the scapula
Innervation of levator scapula
Dorsal scapula nerve C4-5
Action of the levator scapula
Elevate the scapula, rotate head to the same side(ipsilateral rotation)
Origin of rhomboid major
Spinous process of T2-T5
Insertion of rhomboid major
Medial border of the scapula from the level of the spine to the inferior angle
Nerve of the rhomboid major
Dorsal scapular nerve C4-5
Action of rhomboid major
Retract and downwardly rotates the scapula
Origin of the rhomboid minor
Spinous processes of C7-T1 and the ligamentum nuchae
Insertion of the rhomboid minor
Medial border of the scapula from the level of the spine to the superior angle
Nerve to rhomboid minor
Dorsal scapular nerve. C4-5
Action of rhomboid minor
Retracts and downwardly rotates the scapula
Origin of serratus posterior inferior
Spinous processes of T11-L2
Insertion of serratus posterior inferior
The inferior 3-4 ribs
Nerve of serratus posterior inferior
Ventral primary rami of last 4 thoracic nerves
Action of serratus posterior inferior
Depress the inferior 3-4 ribs to prevent superior pull by the diaphragm
