When do the fuel transfer valves open?
When quantity in either inner tank reaches approximately 750kg
What does the fuel transfer valve on ECAM mean if shown in green?
Valve open
What does the fuel transfer valve on ECAM mean if shown in solid amber?
Valve open but should be closed
What does the fuel transfer valve on ECAM mean if shown in amber?
Valve in transit
What happens if the vent surge tank is full?
Fuel is dumped overboard through a vent duct
What happens if there is a slight fuel overflow?
The fuel goes into the vent surge tanks
What does the fuel tank vent system do?
Equalises pressure between the air in the fuel tanks and the ambient air. This is especially important during refuelling
If the fuel crossfeed valve on ECAM is diagonal and amber, what does this mean?
Valve in transit
If the fuel crossfeed valve on ECAM is vertical and amber, what does this mean?
Valve closed but should be open
If the fuel crossfeed valve on ECAM is horizontal and amber, what does this mean?
Valve open but should be closed
What does it mean if ‘LO’ is displayed in a fuel pump on ECAM?
Fuel pump low pressure
What does FLSCU stand for?
Fuel Level Sensing Control Unit
What is the logic of the centre tanks in the automatic configuration?
When engines have consumed 500kg of fuel, under-full sensors turn the jet pumps on until the wing tanks have refilled
What is the logic of the centre tanks in the manual configuration?
Overflow must be managed by using the XFR switches. The centre tanks only feed when the XFR buttons are on. They must also be selected off when the centre tank is empty
What are the valves at the top of the ECAM fuel page called?
LP fuel valve, which are the point where fuel enters the engine
What controls the LP fuel valve?
The engine master switch and the ENG FIRE pb switch
What does the LP valve inline amber indicate?
Valve is open while ENG MASTER is off
What does the LP valve crossline amber indicate?
Valve is closed
What causes the engine number to change to amber on the fuel SD page?
Amber when engine speed is below idle, and changes to white when at or above idle
If both centre tank pumps fail, can the fuel in the centre tank be accessed?
No
What does an amber dash through the last two digits of the FOB quantity indicate?
That the FQI value is inaccurate
