Q

What is required prior to selecting the LOAD FMC prompt after receiving PWB data?

A

Both pilots need to review the ACARS XXX TAKEOFF DATA message by scrolling through the pages using the NEXT PAGE function key and closely review each page for pertinent notes and remarks.

If an error is discovered, the Operations agent will enter corrected info and resend.

Review and compare EFPs in takeoff data. Brief any EFP not previously briefed.

Q

Barring charted or ATC assigned airspeeds, what guidance is in the AOM for normal flap extension sequence?

A

The normal flap extension sequence is flaps 5, then flaps 15, then landing flaps.

Although the normal flap extension sequence is 15, then landing flaps, momentary selection of flaps 25 is permissible as appropriate.

Although the normally flap extension sequence is 5, then, 15, speed assignments on approach (charted/ATC assigned) may be well above flaps 5 or flaps 15 maneuvering speed. In these instances, for efficiency, flaps 1, 2, or 10 may be appropriate.
