Diktak
It was Diktak - a dictated peace. Germany was not allowed to discuss the terms of the treaty. This feeling of it being forced upon them was a major source of resentment towards the treaty
War Guilt Clause
The war guilt clause forces Germany to accept total blame for the war while other countries were also to blame, and many Germans hated this cause as it was harsh/humiliating
Reparations
The Germans were forced to pay £6.6 billion in reparations, which they struggled to pay and impacted their economy. This damaged the nation’s image and reputation
Loss of colonies
Germany lost of their colonies which where given to France and Britian. This affected their trade and was seen as a loss of standing on the world stage.
German Army
The German army was reduced to 100,000 men, which was too small to defend Germany, made them look weak
Loss of territory
Germany lost territory, for example, the Polish corridor. This meant many Germans no longer lived in Germany and caused a loss of national pride
