Herpes zoster opthalmicus

A

vesicular rash around eye
hutchinsons sign: rash on nose, strong indicator for otphalmic involvement
oral antiviral for 7-10days
IV if patient severely unwell/immunocompromised
urgent optho review in ocular involvement
topical corticosteroids may be used to treat any secondary inflammation of the eye
