Q

Fermentation

A

Yeast uses glucose to respire anaerobically producing ethanol and carbon dioxide.

Conditions:
pH 5-6
25 Degree Celsius
1 atm / 100kPa
Yeast

It uses renewable resources, batch process , very slow, ethanol produced needs to purified and low temperature required.

Q

Hydration Of Ethene

A

Ethene is reacted with water to produce Ethanol.

Conditions:
300 Degree Celsius
60-70 atm
Catalyst Concentrated Phosphoric Acid.

Uses non-renewable resources, continuous process, fast, producs pure ethanol, high temperature and pressure required.
