Workup for Ant Shoulder D/L
Axillary, AP and Y view X rays
Bankart Lesion
fracture of the anterior inferior glenoid following impaction of the humeral head against the glenoid.
Hill-Sachs Lesion
compression chondral injury of the posterior superior humeral head following impaction against the glenoid
MC nerve injury possibility in Ant Shoulder D/L
axillary nerve injury: numbness/tingling over lateral shoulder (deltoid region)
Workup for torn Rotator Cuff
MRI
MC injured muscle in Clavicle Fx
supraspinatus
Mc fracture of clavicle
Middle 1/3rd
skin tenting is present in this Fx
clavicle fracture
Workup for clavicle Fx
AP and clavicle view X ray
Tx for clavicle Fx
simple arm sling or figure 8 sling for 4-6 wks
Ortho consult if proximal 1/3rd
Begin PT after 4 weeks/light strengthening
pain with cross chest testing
AC joint separation
step off deformity
elevation of the clavicle
Tx for grade I and II AC joint separation
sling + analgesia
Tx for grade III AC joint separations
