Explain Chlamydia. Name symptoms, transmission, treatment, and if its curable.

Symptoms: sometimes asymptomatic, discharge, itching, etc.
Transmission: childbirth; vaginal, anal, and oral sex

Treatment: meds, abstinence until treated, sexual partners need evals and treatment too, retesting after 3 months.

Gonorrhea: curable STI (also normally co-infected with Chlamydia)
Symptoms: sometimes asymptomatic, discharge, itching, arthritis, rectal infection, etc
Transmission: childbirth; vaginal, anal, and oral sex

Treatment: Antivirals, coping counsel, education (no cure)

Bacterial Vaginosis:
Symptoms: sometimes asymptomatic, vaginal discharge, etc.
Transmission: sexual contact
Curable? Yes
Treatment: antibiotic, teaching precautions
Explain Syphilis. Name symptoms, transmission, treatment, and if its curable.
Syphilis:
Symptoms: rash, flu-like symptoms, sore throat, etc. (much worse symptoms later on)
Transmission: sexual content with infected person
Curable? Yes, depending on its stage
Treatment: antibiotic therapy
Explain Trichomoniasis. Name symptoms, transmission, treatment, and if its curable.
Trichomoniasis:
Symptoms: sometimes aysyptomatic, dysuria, etc.
Transmission: intercourse with infected partner, genital contact with damp objects such as towels/wet clothing.
Curable? Yes
Treatment: medication, abstinence until therapy completed, sexual partners tested.

Symptoms: typically asymptomatic, virus can cause painless genital lumps or growths
Transmission: sexual contact
Curable? No
Treatment: no treatment; typically goes away on its own

Symptoms: fever, muscle pains, sore throat, diarrhea, etc.
Transmission: body fluids (blood, breast milk, semen, etc.)
