Proportional and unproportional force- Only the minimum amount of troops should be used to avoid civilian casualty

What is an Islamic teaching on violence?
When someone is attacking your religion you can fight back and use violence
“Fight in God’s cause against those who fight you, but do not overstep the limits”
However you should not overuse violence.
Islam is understood as a religion of peace. Muslims believe peaceful methods should he used to end conflict not violence
“And if they Incline on peace, then Incline to it”
What is a Christian teaching on violence
You should avoid violence because if you do violence it will happen back to you, worsening the situation
“Put your sword back in its place…for all who draw the sword die by the sword”
Christians follow the example of Jesus who gave many teachings about peace and set the example of peace rather than violence
“Blessed are the peacemakers”
What Is a Islamic quote against terrorism?
“Do not take life which Allah has made sacred”
Against terrorism as killing others is a sin as life is sacred. Terrorism often targets civillians and kills People.
Islam is understood as a religion of peace as Islam means peace. Muslims believe peaceful methods should be used to end conflict not violence
Christian views on pacifism
Some Christians may not accept pacifism as they believe that sometimes fighting is necessary to bring about peace and protect others. An example is World War Two where many people fought for the allies to save people from the actions of the Nazi Party, e.g Jews from holocaust
“Defend the weak and the fatherless”
which suggests that fighting is justified to protect the vulnerable
Some Christians accept pacifism as it is a part of the ten commandments (doesnt preach violence and the fifth commandment is to not kill) and Jesus was seen as a pacifist.
“Blessed are the peacemakers” promotes peace
Some Christians such as the Quakers support pacifism as they believe that a part of God is within everyone, so attacking someone would be attacking God

Islam means peace and supports peace and non violence
“O you who believe! Enter absolutely into peace”
“But if they incline to peace, Incline to it also”
Allah created the world with the intention that peace would he part of his creation
Muslims should seek peace and avoid conflict as it only results in more harm done than good which is not what Allah wants.
Muslims believe in the personal struggle for peace or the greater jihad
Justice in Islam
Muslims believe that justice is important to what Allah intended for the world
Muslims will be judged in the afterlife on how they treated others, so they should act fairly and in a just way
“O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice”
Importance of justice forgiveness and reconciliation
Muslims believe there is a direct link between the ideas of justice and peace. If justice and fairness can be attained, peace will follow. The ummah demonstrates ideas of equality and justice, as all Muslims are of equal worth and value and support each other
“Repel evil by that deed which is better”
Muslims believe that forgiveness is important to peace. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. Allah is merciful and Muslims should follow his example and try to forgive others when they do wrong.
“But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allah is forgiving and merciful”
According to Muslims, reconciliation is needed in order to live in an ordered and peaceful world as Allah intends
Non religious attitudes on terrorism
Many atheists may claim that religion itself is at the root of conflict in the world and that it is religion that causes terrorism. They may argue that without religion, there would be no terrorism
Christian teachings on just war
Many Christians believe it is right to have armed forces to protect the country
Sometimes it can be argued that violence is necessary. E.g if a country is invaded the people of that country should be allowed to defend themselves
