What is the pectinate line?
The remnant of the proctodeum (where stratified squamous and simple columnar epithelia meet)
What can occur at the transition zone in the prostate?
Benign prostatic hyperplasia
What can happen in the peripheral zone of the prostate?
Prostate carcinoma
What are the sympathetics responsible for in the pelvis (besides blood vessels)?
Contraction of internal urethral and anal sphincters, contraction of smooth muscle in reproductive glands, ejaculation
What are the parasympathetic responsible for in the pelvis?
Vasodilation, bladder contraction, erection
Which muscles connect to the perineal body?
Deep/superficial transverse perinei, deep/superficial external anal sphincter, bulbospongiosus, sphincter urethrovaginalis
