1
Q

pericarditis

A

inflm of pericardium (lining outside of heart)

  • causes vasodilation, swelling, cellular respiration
  • d/t infect or any other form of injury
  • inflm –> inc capillary permb –> fluid fills pericardium and once full it moves to pericardial space –> exudate in pericardial space
  • fibrinous or fluid exudate: fluid exudate easier to remove; fibrinous exudate worse b/c fixed in place –> both restrict cardiac Fx
