place of articulation involving only lower lip and additionally the upper teeth

place of articulation where the tongue is raised toward hard palate
Plosives
consonant sounds that are formed by completely stopping airflow
Fricatives
consonant sounds that are formed when the air passes through slight opening
Affricates
consonant sounds that are formed by stoppage of airflow, followed by prolonged release with only narrow opening and therefore audible friction
Approximants
consonant sounds formed with no complete closure, articulators leave enough space for air to pass with audible friction
Nasals
consonant sounds formed when the velum is lowered, leaving an open passage from oral to nasal cavity, air escaping through the nose
Diphthong
sounds made by combining two vowels, specifically when it starts as one vowel and goes to another
Voiceless consonant
no vibration of vocal cord when forming consonant sound
