What is conduction?
Is when heat energy is transferred by particles vibrating faster and bumping into each other
What is convection?
Is when heat energy rises because particles vibrate faster making the hot liquid/gas less dense. As it cools, particles slow down and the liquid/gas becomes more dense
What is radiation?
Is the transfer of heat energy through wavelengths.
What are the three types of radiation?
Transmitted
Absorbed
Reflected
What happens when radiation is transmitted?
It goes through the object
What happens when radiation is absorbed?
It takes the radiation into the object
What happens when radiation is reflected?
It bounces off the object
What is energy transformation?
This is when a for of energy changes into another form of energy.
Eg.kinetic-potential,potential-kinetic
What is the” law of conservation of energy state”?
It states that no energy Canberra created or destroyed but only transferred from one thing to another
What are renewable energy resources?
Sources that can be renewed/reused
Eg. Solar, hydro,wind
What are non-renewable energy resources?
Sources that can not be renewed/reused
Eg. Coal, fossil fuels, nuclear
