How do Indie developers gain funding for production?
1) Crowd Funding on sites such as gofundme although due to flops like Mighty Number 9 it is decreasing in popularity
2) Bigger companies funding smaller games - such as microsoft with Studio MDHR
Why has the cost of production increased?
More labour intensive now. For example in 2000 1 average artist could make one character from scratch whereas nowadays the development of 1 character involves 10 or more people.
How has the development of modern day technology helped the production process?
It means that the studios who make the games can go a lot more graphically indepth meaning better graphics for games can be created
What is the current average salary of the video game producers?
Big studios have said around 10’000 per person per month
What has been the increase in price?
In 2008 it was about 20 million US dollars for a big budget game but it has now increased to about 500 million with games such as Destiny
