What is the Manduria DOC known for?

A

One of Puglia’s best-known denominations of origin.
85% min Primitivo, with 15% allowed of other non-aromatic red varieties.
It is produced in various communes in the province of Taranto, among them the
best-known town, Manduria.
The wine cannot have less than 13.5% finished alcohol, which rises to 14% for the
Riserva. In addition, it must reach 24 months maturation, of which 9 months in oak.

Describe the key components of the PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA DOLCE NATURALE DOCG

A

DOCG in 2011
It is the only denomination that produces solely a sweet red wine. Its production
area is identical to that of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, but it utilizes only
Primitivo dried grapes using the ‘appassimento’ method.
