Qualitative Data refers to the collection of information in a lingustic opinion-based form, e.g. we utilised the Powers Roundness Scale/Index to measure the roundess of our collated sediment. A piece of sediment with a class 6 would be “Well rounded”.
Quanititative Data refers to the collection of information in a numberical/statistical form, e.g. at site 19 of Wycoller Beck the discharge of the river was 0.444 cumecs (m3/s).
