Positive, Productive, Respectful, Mature
Failure to adhere may result in discipline ranging from Counseling to Dismissal.
When on duty, how should members address Officers?
By their proper Titles
What are Officers responsible for regarding reports?
Accurate and timely dispatch of all required reports by the end of their shift
Under what circumstances can an Officer relieve a member from duty?
When an offense/violation is serious enough to warrant immediate relief
What must be done after relieving a member from duty?
Immediate verbal report, followed by written report with allegations and charges forwarded to Fire Chief
What must Officers ensure for probationary employees?

What certifications must all members of RFD obtain?
- FF II or Basic FF certification
- EMT-Basic
- Pass all probationary testing

What is the primary goal of all RFD members?
Maintain established professional standards and continue professional delivery of services
What should members do to pass required exams?
Give full, due diligence to passing on their 1st attempt
What information must be included in PW_Fire_Station_Maintenance when work is completed?
- Who did the work
- What work was completed
- Date work was completed
Under what condition are vendors allowed in stations?
With a letter of authorization stating purpose/dates granted
What must members maintain regarding their personal contact information?
A working phone in their residence, kept current with A-1
What is prohibited for members filling the role of FF or EMS while on duty?
- Wearing earrings, studs, or other facial jewelry
- Hair not kept to be completely covered by a hood
What must a person do before riding in an RFD vehicle?
Read and sign a required release of liability form
What should a member do if they lose their Driver License?
Notify respective Division Chief or Division Administrator immediately
What is required of members while apparatus is in motion?
Shall be seated and wearing a seatbelt, except during specific activities
If a member believes they have been discriminated against, whom can they appeal to?
- Fire Chief
- Director of Human Resources
What authority does the Fire Chief have regarding suspension?
Suspend with or without pay for no more than 5 calendar days
What is an Informal Inquiry?
Meeting by supervisory or command personnel with a fireman regarding misconduct allegations
What is the purpose of a Formal Investigation?
To gather evidence of misconduct which may lead to removal, discharge, or suspension
What does Interrogation refer to?
Questioning of a fireman pursuant to an investigation which may lead to charges
Where should the Place of Interrogation occur?
At the facility to which the investigating officer is assigned or the jurisdiction of the incident
What must a fireman be informed of before interrogation?
In writing about the allegations and potential consequences
