•Repetition “his bloody life in my bloody hands” shift from pronouns, change in soldiers view, acknowledgment of responsibility, consequences torment him, possibility of innocent person is inescapable.
•Metaphor “dug in behind enemy lines”, militant language, menories are stuck and buried in his mind, eternal permanent memory, isnt forgettable but a stain. Battle in his mind, never go away.
