Replacing Negative Thoughts Of Mine Flashcards

1
Q

Work: “what’s the point of preparing for this call? It won’t make a difference whether they buy or not. They probably won’t anyway bc no one does”

A

“NONE OF IT IS WASTED EFFORT.

Is the revenue the only point? Is preparing worthless if they don’t buy? What do I gain?

  • Learn new skills / sharpen them
  • Build productive habits –> habits make it easy
  • Build a strong brand with colleagues and clients
If it doesn’t pay off. It is not all lost. You take everything with you. You take the skills, talk tracks, habits, and network with you.

NONE OF IT IS WASTED EFFOORT. Things have a way of working out in a wonky way you would’ve never foreseen.”

Q

I hate selling

A

Is this 100% true?

Am I using black and white thinking?

I don’t like parts of selling but I like helping others and connecting with others and I love psychology, making money, meeting people in-person and being an expert. I have the natural skills to excel in sales: tenacity, outgoing/ EQ, hardworking, ask good questions and am methodical. And great training from LinkedIn/ Zoom - world class orgs.

Q

I see the winds are blowing - no open roles right now.. what’s the point?

A

I am going to buckle up and weather this storm, but it doesn’t mean I can’t make incremental improvements before the job comes up. There’s A LOT I can do in the meantime.
