Anne Oakley - sociology of housework - unstructured

A

wanted to find out what the women who did housework though about doing it
40 in-depth interviews
each one took 2 hours
conversations were recorded
two different areas of London - WC + MC
housewives were between 20 and 30, all were mothers with at least one child under 5
she asked factual questions with rating scales
also asked in depth questions
found that dissatisfaction was higher in those who reported monotony
