The English and French Metis both went to battle together which was very uncommon for English and French.
Why did the Métis Rebel?
The Métis found land assignments unfair. The distribution of land process was slow. And Metis would often sell their scrip to feed their families. Land was usually far from water and home. Racist white settlers, Land speculation, militia punishers, and buffalo hunters ruined their way of life.
