Section 1 Flashcards
(7 cards)
What is an independent variable
Independent variables – the variable that is being changed during the experiment
What is a dependant variable
Dependent variables – the variable being tested or measured during the experiment
What is a control variable
In a scientific experiment, a control variable is a factor that is kept constant or held steady throughout the experiment to ensure that the changes in the dependent variable are due only to the independent variable being manipulated
What is CORMMSS
Change, Organism, Repeat, What me need to measure, Measure in more detail, Same, Standardisation/keep it fair and balanced.
What is FLIDUB

What is SLAPUK

Mean Median Mode Range %Change
Mean: The average of a set of numbers, calculated by adding all the values and dividing by the number of values
Median: The middle value in a sorted dataset
Mode: The value that appears most frequently in a dataset
Range: The difference between the highest and lowest values in a dataset
Percentage Change: Calculated as (New Value - Old Value) / Old Value 100%
