FSH stands for

what does the hormone FSH do
causes an egg in the ovary to mature
encourages the production of Oestrogen
what does oestrogen cause to happen in the vagina
oestrogen causes the development of the uterus lining

oestrogen stimulates the production of LH
Oestrogen stops the production of FSH
what does the hormone LH do
the hormone LH stimulates the release of the matured egg on day 14.
this is known as ‘Ovulation’
where is progesterone produced and when
progesterone is produced in the ovaries after ovulation
what does the hormone progesterone do
progesterone is responsible for maintaining the lining of the uterus from day 14-28
what triggers the breakdown of the uterus lining
the drop in the progesterone levels cause the lining to breakdown
what does progesterone also do to the hormones LH and FSH
it stops their release
How do menstrual hormones affect the production of one another?
FSH stimulates the production of oestrogen and oestrogen inhibits the production of FSH.
