Doxorubicin’s Locker: Antineoplastic antibiotics

Bleomycin: Beluga whale - Oxide bubbles: bleomycin binds DNA and produces free radicals (superoxide and hydroxide) , broken double helix kelp. free radicals produced cause single and doule stranded breaks in the DNA. Galleon: Blocks the G2 phase of the cell cycle. Cracked anticancer crab:Treats many hematologic and solid malignancies (E.g. Hodkin and Non-hodgkin lymphoma, germ cell tumors, squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, cervix and vulva. It can cause Pulmonary toxicity (e.g. Pneumonitis, pulmonary infliltrates on Xray)-Lung coral. Hyperpigmented striae: It can cause skin toxicity (e.g. rash, exfoliation, hyperpigmentation, atrophic striae. Poking mouth: bleomycin (and anthracyclines) can cause mucositis and stomatitis. Bald beluga: can cause alopecia.

Anthracyclines: (Santa Athracycline)

Rubies: “-rubicin” suffix of antracyclines (e.g. doxorubicin and daunorubicin)

Oxide bubbles: produce free radicals

Rubies inserting into helical seaweed: anthracyclines (e.g. doxorubicin) intercalates in DNA –> block DNA and RNA synthesis.

Chelating the heart sack: dexrazoxane (iron chelator) prevents antracycline-induced cardiotoxicity.

Up on deck with razor: dexrazoxane (iron chelator)

Depleted bone chest: anthracyclines (doxorubicin) and actinomycin D can cause myelosupression.

Poking mouth: bleomycin (and anthracyclines can cause mucositis and stomatitis.

Bald pirate: antracyclines (e.g doxorubicin) can cause alopecia)

Doxorubicin:

Cracked cancer crab: treats a broad range of solid and hematologic malignancies.

Dilated heart ruby sacks: anthracyclines (e.g.doxorubicin) can cause cardiotoxicity (e.g. dilated cardiomyopathy)

Daunrubicin

Actinomycin D/ Dactomycin:

Doll artifact

Artifacts inserting into helical seaweed: actinomycin D intercalates in DNA–> blocking dna AND RNA synthesis

Child’s artifact: actinomycin D treats numerous pediatric malignancies (e.g Wilms tumor, Erwing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma).

Bald doll: can cause alopecia

Depleted bone chest: can cause myelosupression
