role of reinforcement in gender
children learn gender roles by watching and copying same sex role models

child gets praised for behaving in gender appropriate way

1. attention= child notices the behaviour
2. retention= child remembers the behaviour
3.reproduction= child can physically apply it
4. motivation=child wants to copy it.

p- research shows that kids copy behaviour of ppl like them
e- Perry and bussey , show kids videos where boys or girls , picked apples or pears, kids copied fruit choice of same sex model they saw
e- but kids only copied behaviour that matched what they thought was normal for their gender
l- so only copy when it fits what they already believe abt bros and girls
