can give rise to all human cell types, including the placenta

A
Can give rise to all cell types, excluding the placenta and cannot create an entire organism

What is a multipotent stem cell?
A
They give rise to a limited range of cells within a tissue (e.g blood stem cells can develop into RBCs, WBCs and platelets)

A
Used to replace cells that have died or lost function. It can only differentiate into similar cells from the original tissue
