Student Guide E-2 Flashcards
(19 cards)
What signal will generate the SI in uncontrolled depress of all SG?
Low SG P 500 1/1 2 SG
What is long term recovery method?
Cooldown and depress
What happens to heat transfer rate as Tavg lowers?
It lowers
What is the limiting challenge to the core?
PTS
IF all SG are faulted can systems maintain SG lvl?
No
What will cause RCS P and PRZ lvl to rise?
ECCS flow exceeds RCS shrinkage rate
Why we control AFW flow during an uncontrolled depress of all SGs?
Prevent SG dryout minimize cooldown
What is the minimum FW flow to the SGs when all faulted?
25K pph and keep them wet
What are entry conditions for ECA2.1
All SGs depressurized
E-2 Major Action
1) Establish secondary pressure (heat sink)
2) Control Feed flow (limit c/d, prevent sg overfill)
3) Terminate SI (ECCS maleup exceeds shrink)
4) Cooldown and Place RHR in service (heat sink)
5) Cooldown to cold shutdown (stop steam gen)
ECA 2.1 What action if SG level rises?
E-3
ECA 2.1 What actions if SG P rises?
Any SG pressure boundary restored
Under what condition will the SI pump be stopped in ECA 2.1?
Meet SI termination and RCS pressure above SI pump shutoff head and rising
Why are RCS temps checked prior to determining if RCPs should be stopped?
Ensure pressure reduction due to SG depressurization
Why RCP 3 for spray?
Greatest spray flow due to greatest D/p from spray to surge line
Basis for performing Att ! in ECA2.1
Close valves on one loop at a time to ensure local check
What is purpose of looping back to step 2 in ECA 2.1 if ECCS flow cannot be terminated?
Control Cool down and recheck for primary to secondary leackage
What actions of ECA2.1 will limit he RCS re pressurization following blowdown?
Control AFW to stabilize HL temp
Reduce ECCS
Establish LD
If reducing AFW flow 25K pph in ECA 2.1 results in red path, what action should be taken?
Maintain the established flow rate unless HL temp are rising. Must go to FRP
