What is sustainability?
Meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability for future generations to meet their own needs.
What legislation are you aware of relating to sustainability?
Environment Act 2021
This sets target for:
1. Waste efficiency
2. Water quality
3. Air quality
4. Biodiversity
Why is sustainability key to the profession?
The built environment contributes around 40% to the global carbon emissions. It is therefore a key player in reducing emissions and has the opportunity to significantly help in the journey to net zero.
What is ESG?
Environmental, social, and governance (ESG)
refers to a set of standards for a company’s behaviour used by socially conscious investors to screen potential investments.

How do you promote sustainability at FG?
- Recycling Bins at Ashby office
- Reduce the documents I send in post
- Hold meetings on Teams rather than in person
