Q

Describe functions of topoisomerase I, DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase

A

Topoisomerase I - separates DNA strands during replication
DNA polymerase - adds nucleotides to 3’hydroxyl end of an RNA/DNA primer that is hybridized to a template, leading to synthesis of a new complementary strand of DNA
RNA polymerase - uses non-sense strand of DNA as a template to add bases to create mRNA in the sequence that is identical to the sense strand of DNA
