What is the worldwide Church?
It refers to all Christians globally, united in faith and mission.
What are the goals of the worldwide Church?
To promote Christian unity, share the gospel, tackle poverty, homelessness and conflict, support the persecuted and work for reconciliation.
What is reconciliation in Christianity?
Reconciliation means restoring relationships, between people, groups, or with God. Christians believe Jesus’ death made reconciliation possible and aim to be peacemakers.
How do Christians work for reconciliation?
They help to resolve conflicts, and support truth and forgiveness, and also run programmes to bring together divided groups of people.

How are Christians persecuted today?
Many may face violence, threats, imprisonment or torture, whilst others may be victims of social prejudice, alongside discrimination in schools, workplaces or in the eyes of law.
How do churches respond to persecution?
Praying for the persecuted, offering practical support and legal aid and campaigning for human rights and freedom of belief.
Why do Christians see persecution as part of faith?
Jesus said His followers would be persecuted. Many Christians see it as a chance to grow stronger in faith and share in Christ’s suffering.
“If the world hates you, know it has hated me before it hated you.”
- John 15:18
