can bleed suddenly
can be "invasive"
usually an incidental finding
What does a pituitary adenoma look like
highly variable, not a single description.
pleomorphic or uniform

- long arms and legs
- mostly face and hands
Other complications of growth hormone adenoma
ACTH adenoma can cause
Cushing syndrome (also disease)
Nelson syndrome (if you remove the adrenals, which you won't)
Causes of Hypopituitarism
- surgery, radiation or adenoma that's too big
- Sheehan syndrome from hemorrhage in pregnancy
Empty Sella Syndrome
- sudden infarct, can be deadly
Clinical presentation of of hypo pit
-GH --> weakness
-FSH/LH --> no libido
-PL no lactation
-TSH - hypothyroid
-ACTH - adreanal isufficiency
2 types of Diabetes insipidus
Blood is hypo or hypertonic?
decreased ADH (or don't respond to it)
- trauma, tumor, alcohol
