Range of elevation: 2.1
90 degrees above horizontal to 15 degrees below horizontal.
Below 35 degrees must be mounted to apparatus or secured with ropes
BELOW HORIZONTAL MUST be mounted to apparatus
Safety stop lock and release pin prevents lowering below 35 degrees. Pull befor reaching 35 degrees
Horizontal friction lock, if released permits 180 degrees to be traversed horizontally
Pull locking plunger to remove from truck or base
The locking plunger retaining latch is bright orange
Multiversal has 3 tips, psi is to avoid delivering more than 800 GPM through appliance
1 1/4” - 100 psi
1 1/2”- 70 psi
2” - 50 psi
Maximum pressure to which any part of the multiversal should be subjected is 200 p.s.i.
2 members to remove from apparatus and to ground
1 member to carry to point of operation
Make sure “T” handle is UP
Ground Mounted must be secured by rope
Around siamese and 1/2 hitch on each large leg on the side of the front leg.
Front leg has the chain and faces the direction of the fire or operation
Secure to substantial object with clove hitch and binder
NEVER RELY ON CHAIN ALONE
Supplying the multiversal:
2 hoselines “recommended”
Bulletin does not mention size of hose, only that supply inlets are 3” female swivels
Bring hose straight back 15 feet before bends or turns
Only move ground base or 15 ft of hose with water shut down
If comm w/ ECC difficult, insert single gate one length from nozzle
Inspect Spikes after each use
If DIA exceeds 1/16”, sharpen or replace
Truck Mount:
Installs in 8 different positions onto raised portions
Raised portion must fit directly into receptacle in bottom of siamese when locking plunger retaining latch is pulled up and the nozzle is forcefully pushed down.
When operating multiversal from truck mount a 50 foot length of hose SHOULD be used. This makes it easier to lift nozzle from its base
Horizontal rotaion is limited to 180 degrees on each 8 points on truck mount.
In the portable position it is limited to 90 degrees in each directon from the straight ahead position
Akron new yorker routine maintenance conducted QUARTERLY
Always make sure locking plunger which secures the nozzle to base is fully seated.
If it can be lifted out of its base or if retaining latch is not in proper position, the nozzle is not properly secured in its base
