1

What are the features of the upper central

rectangular shape
right angled mesial side
rounded angle distal side
cingulum distally displaced

2

What are the features of the upper lateral

triangle shaped
greater undulation on the mesial side of cervical line
wedge shaped when viewed proximally
mesial incisal angle is slightly rounded but not as rounded as the distal side
has a fossa prone to caries
can rotate the tooth easily

3

What are the features of the lower lateral incisor

Has a flare on the distal side
Sharp angle on the mesial side
rounder angle on the distal side
mesial side has greatest undulation of cervical line
cannot rotate the tooth easily
lingually inclined

4

What are the features of the upper canine

diamond shaped
greatest undulation of cervical line on mesial side
mesial cusp slope is shorter and less steeply inclined
mesial side has its contact point closest to incisal edge

5

What are the features of the lower canine

smaller than upper
mesial contact point is closer to incisal edge
unpronounced cingulum
greatest undulation of cervical line on the mesial side

6

what are the features of the upper first premolar

occlusal surface is oval shaped
buccal cusp looks like canine
has a canine fossa on the mesial side
palatal cusp is more mesially displaced
2 roots

7

what are the features of the upper second premolar

smaller than upper first premolar
2 cusps of similar height
deep root depression on distal root
palatal cusp is displaced medially
marginal ridge on the distal side is more cervical

8

what are the features of the lower first premolar

mesial marginal ridge is more cervical
very small lingual cusp
small groove runs from the mesial pit onto the mesio-lingual surface
lingual cusp is displaced distally

9

what are the features of the lower second premolar

similar sized cusps
lingual cusp displaced mesially
2 lingual cusps - mesial lingual cusp is larger
distal fossa is greatest
distal marginal ridge is more cervical

10

what are the features of an upper first molar

3 roots
diamond shaped occlusal surface
largest cusp is on the mesial palatal side
may be a tubercle of carabelli

11

what are the features of the upper second molar

triangular shaped crown
3 roots
largest cusp is mesial-palatal cusp
distopalatal cusp may be greatly reduced
roots are much less divergent

12

what are the features of the lower first molar

5 cusps
2 roots
distal side is rounder due to distal cusp
distal cusp is smallest
5 pulp chambers

13

what are the features of the lower second molar

2 roots
4 cusps
largest cusp is mesio-buccal
