What was the Proclamation of 1763?

A

A law that prohibited colonists from moving west of the Appalachian mountains. The colonists ignored it. It was created after the French and Indian War.

A

It was an official document that explained the reasons for the colonies becoming independent from Britain. It was mainly created by Thomas Jefferson.

A

They were laws created by the British after the Boston Tea Party. It was their way of punishing the colonists for their actions.

A

Rights that all people have from birth: life. liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This was in the Declaration of Independence.

What was the significance of the Battle of Saratoga?

A

It was the turning point in the Revolution. Due to the colonists almost winning that battle the French joined their side in the war, which was significant and helped them win.

A

It was the last major battle of the Revolution. The colonists won and the British signed the Treaty of Paris, which recognized the U.S. as an independent country.
