Hindu trinity message to the freshly awakened Buddha under the Bodhi tree
Their message was that now he is awakened he needs to get up from his seat at the Bodhi tree and go to the Deer Park in the holy city of Benares.
Buddhas first sermon at the Deer Park in Benares
It consisted of the four noble truths and the three marks of existence.
4 noble truths and 8 fold path
- Truth of duhkha (suffering) 2. Truth of Hetu ( cause or origin) 3. Truth of Nirodha (Cessation (meaning ending)) 4. Truth of Marga (Path) noble 8 fold path 1. Right view 2. Right intention 3. Right speech 4. Right conduct 5. Right livelihood 6. Right effort 7. Right mindfulness 8. Right meditative absorption
3 marks of existence
- Pain 2. Impermanence 3. Self- lessness It contrasts with Hindu notion of God as bliss, permanency and selfhood.

Buddha’s death and stupas
He died around 80 and said to have died of eating stale meat served to him unknowingly by a devotee. His final words were “I have show you the way, now you must be lamps unto yourselves.” Stupa is where the relics of the Buddha were enshrined. It is a mound.
