Unit 8 Flashcards
(7 cards)
What is a scalar quantity?
Quantity measuring magnitude:
Speed, height, density, distance
What is a vector quantity?
Quantity measuring magnitude and direction:
Velocity, acceleration, displacement
What is showed in a position-time graph?
Shows the relationship between the position (shown on the y-axis) of an object and its time (shown on the x-axis) to show velocity
What is the equation to solve for acceleration?
Acceleration = change in velocity / change in time
What is the equation to solve for momentum?
P = mv
Momentum = mass x velocity
What is a positive correlation? What is a negative correlation?
A positive correlation showcases both quantities increasing and decreasing together
A negative correlation showcased one quantity increasing while the other decreases
What is drag?
Drag is a force exerted by a fluid in opposition to the motion of an object.
Decreasing drag increases net force
