  1. Contact Dispatch via radio or dial 911 to report incident.
  2. Do not move your vehicle unless it is creating a traffic hazard or
    requested by law enforcement.
  3. Remain at the incident until law enforcement has completed their
    investigation.
  4. Do not discuss the incident with anyone other than SMFR personnel and
    law enforcement representatives.
  5. Do not negotiate the settlement of any claim, promise payment for any
    injury or damage, or admit liability.
  6. If applicable, submit to drug and alcohol testing as requested by law
    enforcement or as directed by policy 3.1.16 Alcohol and Controlled
    Substance Policy.
  7. Submit a driver statement. Once the Battalion or District Chief has
    submitted the incident report, an email will be sent to the Driver
    requesting a written driver statement.
