What are the three branches of the aortic arch?
Brachiocephalic artery, left common carotid artery, left subclavian artery.
Brachiocephalic artery (or trunk): A major artery that branches off the aorta and supplies blood to the right arm, head, and neck.
What does the ascending aorta give rise to?
The coronary arteries.
Where does the thoracic aorta begin and end?
Begins at T5 and ends at T12.
What are the visceral branches of the thoracic aorta?
Bronchial, esophageal, pericardial, and mediastinal arteries.
What are the parietal branches of the thoracic aorta?
Intercostal arteries and superior phrenic arteries.
What is the celiac trunk?
A major branch of the abdominal aorta that gives rise to the left gastric, splenic, and common hepatic arteries.
What does the superior mesenteric artery supply?
Small intestine, pancreas, and majority of the large intestine.
What does the inferior mesenteric artery supply?
Distal large intestine and rectum.
What do the renal arteries supply?
Each kidney.
What do the gonadal arteries supply?
The reproductive organs (ovaries or testes).
What do the lumbar arteries supply?
The lumbar region, abdominal wall, and spinal cord.
What does the median sacral artery supply?
The sacrum.
What are the terminal branches of the abdominal aorta?
The right and left common iliac arteries.
What does the internal iliac artery supply?
Pelvis, bladder, genitalia, uterus, vagina.
What does the external iliac artery supply?
The lower limbs.
What does the superior vesical artery supply?
The urinary bladder.
What does the inferior vesical artery supply?
The bladder and ureter.
What does the middle rectal artery supply?
The middle rectum.
What does the vaginal artery supply?
The vagina and bulb of vestibule.
What does the uterine artery supply?
The uterus; anastomoses with the ovarian artery.
What does the obturator artery supply?
Pelvic muscles, medial thigh, and hip.
What does the internal pudendal artery supply?
External genitalia, anal canal, perineum.
What does the inferior gluteal artery supply?
Pelvic floor and gluteal muscles.
What does the iliolumbar artery supply?
Psoas major.
