Why does the water easily erode on one part but not the other in a waterfall
Because it is soft rock against hard rock and soft rock erodes easily
What is the first step that occurs in a water fall
Water falls off hard rock and down a ledge
What is the second step in a water fall
The water starts to erode the bottom of the soft rock with attrition making a plunge pool with turbulent water
What is the third step in a waterfall
The rocks start to erode the side of the soft rock with hydraulic action and abrasion.
What is the fourth step of a waterfall
As the rocks erode the side of the soft rock, the hard rock begins to form an undercutting. This eventually falls off and the process starts again
What is a plunge pool
It is at the bottom of the waterfall where erosion happens
