what is the defenition of a system
A regulary interacting or interdependent group of items forming a unified whole/ an organized set of doctrines, ideas, or principles intended to explain the arrangement or working of a systamatic whole
What does a system concern
Both physical items and social, economic, or polotical orginizations or practices
By what is the scope of a system defined?
Its boundries, meaning choosing which entities are inside the system and which are outside, i.e. part of envrionment
What is a complex system?
Multiple system that interact with each other

Personal (psychological), Interpersonal, Cultulal, Legal & governmental

values like health, accessability, money, happiness
What is a generalized measure of a value
Utility (nutsvoorziening)
What is the principle of utility?
That actions are to be judged by their usefulness in this sense: their tendency to produce benefits, advantage, pleasure, good, or happiness
What are cities the result of?
Choices of people
Which people make a city?
Individual people, Groups of people, Business, Societies, Governments
How do peoples choices result in cities?
People’s wishes and demands
What are strong values?
Recognizable,values that occur a lot and many people have them
What are wishfull values?
These are the things that are achievable but not often achieved
What are weak values?
those are the things that are difficult to measure like social stability
What are hidden values?
Usually behind the wishful value like ego. Underlying beliefs and principles that influence an individuals behaviour.
What are neglected values?
Symbolic things like that we shaped our city in the shape of a cross
What are 4 main types of values for individuals?
Hedonic, egoistic, altruistic, biospheric
What is ment by hedonic value?
Pleasure, fun, reducing effort
What is ment by egoistic value?
Money and power
What is ment by altruistic value?
Welfare of other people, caring for other people
What is ment by biospheric value?
Nature had intrinsic value, so caring for nature.
What does the prioritized value in a situation influence?
Beliefs, attitudes and norms (hence, behaviour)
