Week 11 Flashcards
(11 cards)
median nerve
C6-T1
near the insertion of corocobrachialis it crosses in front of brachial artery and follows it medially to enter the cubital fossa
in cubital fossa, sits posterior to to bicipital aponeurosis and anterior to brachialis. enters the forearm between 2 heads of pronator teres. major branch is ant. interosseus. appox 5cm proximal to flexor retinaculum it emerges from beneath flexor digitorum superfiscialis and enters wrist beneath flexor retinaculum within carpal tunnel
cubital fossa
superior border - line between lat and medial epicondyles of humerus
lateral border - brachoradialis
medial border - pronator teres
roof - bicipital aponeurosis
floor - supinator
contents; median nerve, radial nerve, brachial artery-) ulnar artery and radial artery, biceps tendon
ulnar nerve
C7-T1
from medial cord of brachial plexus. descends distally through axilla medial to axillary artery and continues medial to brachial artery to mid arm
passes anteriorly to the med head of triceps. post. to medial epicondyle and enters forearm.
passes through cubital tunnel formed by humeral and ulnar heads of flexor carpi ulnaris. descends on medial side of forearm
pronator teres
medial epicondyle and coronoid process of ulna - proximal radius
median n.
flexor carpi radialis
medial epicondyle of humerus - palmar surface of base of 2nd metacarpal
median n.
palmaris longus
medial epicondyle of humerus - flexor retinaculum and palmar aponeurosis
median n
flexor carpi ulnaris
medial epicondyle of humerus - palmar surface, hook of hamate and base of 5th metacarpal
ulnar n
flexor digitorum superfiscialis
medial epicondyle of humerus - middle phalanges of digits 2-5
median n.
flexor digitorum profundus
proximal anterior medial surface of ulna and IOM - palmar surface of base distal phalanges of digits 2-5
ulnar and median n (ant. interosseous)
flexor pollicis longus
anterior surface of radius and IOM - palmar surface of base of distal phalange of 1st digit
ant. interosseous
pronator quadratus
distal anterior surface of ulnar - distal anterior surface of radius
ant. interosseous
