1st - shorter and flatter
2nd - thinner and longer than 1st, has rough surface for serratus ant.
11th and 12th - shorter, floating, no costal cartilage, no tubercle
rectus abdominis muscle
xiphoid process and 5-7 costal cartilage - pubic symphisis and pubic crest
thorocoabdominal nerve
external oblique
exterior surface ribs 5-12 - linea alba, pubic tubercle, anterior iliac crest and lateral inguinal ligament
thoracoabdominal nerve
internal oblique
thoracolumbar fascia, anterior iliac crest, lateral inguinal ligament - pecten pubis via conjoint tendon, linea alba and inferior border ribs 10-12
thorocoabdominal nerve and 1st lumbar nerve
transverse abdominis
lateral inguinal ligament, inner anterior iliac crest, thorocolumbar fascia, lower 6 costal cartilage - linea alba, pubic crest, aponeurosis of internal oblique, pecten pubis via conjoint tendon
