Week 8 Flashcards
(6 cards)
glenoid labrum function
deepens socket, limits accessory movement, increases congruency of GHJ. attachment for biceps long head. can be torn in dislocations or biceps traction
what is a Blankert Lesion
tear to the anterior glenoid labrum
happens in 59% of first time GHJ dislocations
corocohumeral ligament function
resists weight of arm
transverse humeral ligament function
converts intertubercular sulcus into bicipital tunnel
prevents bowstring of biceps tendon
holds synovial sheath around biceps in place
axillary nerve
C5-6
from post cord of brachial plexus. lat to radial nerve, posterior to axillary artery. passes into axilla, through quadrangular space and curves around neck of humerus
musculocutaneous nerve
C5-7
lat chord of brachial plexus. peirces corocobrachialis and descends laterally between biceps brachaii and brachialis. continues as lateral cutaneous nerve.
