Q

Latitude and Longitude

A

The Sky Varies with Latitude and Longitude

If we were at the north pole, polaris would be directly ahead but from here it’s not

Altitude of celestrial pole = latitude

As you change latitude and go down towards the equator - polaris would appear at the equator
90 degree
Everywhere between northpole and equator it’s at a slant

When the horization shifts, polaris appears to shift in the sky
Go up in altitude r=or latitue, t=

Shift latitude .. yeah

AINT GOING NO WHERE WITH THAT ATTITUDE
I CANT FIND ANYONE WHO’S LIKE ME AT THIS LATITUDE

Seasons

A

Winter Summer soulstic
Auttom Spring equanox

Northen hemisphere but southern hemisphere is different

If it’s winter here, it’s summer in australia
DECEMBER ITS SUMMER FOR THEM thats weird

Our seasons are not based off of how close we are based on the sun.
It has to do with the axial tilt

If the first was true then the northern and southern hemsiphere would both have summer at the same time

We’re fartherst aware during summer but in the southern hemisphere it is closer
For us, winter we’re the closest to the sun and in summer we’re farthest awy from the sun

During June sostis or our summer sostic our north pole points towards the sun and during winter it points away
South pole points towads away its summer

If your pole towards the sun, that stranslate to yout summer. Away from the sun in your winter.
Northern hemisphere north pole Southern hemisphere south pole.

Q

Why?

A

Direction of sunlight

During quanox sun is directly east and west

Seasonal hanges more extreme at higher latitudes
Long periods of darkness above the arctic circle\

Senotic period Syderic period 29.5 day cycle lengenthed beyond would it would be if the earth was simply stationary

Full moon back to a fulll mooon

One degrees
1.3 more days to go all the way around

Syncronis rotation
Tethered to a string
Tether ball
How the moon rotates

If u were on the sun youd see all sides of the sun

As sunlight passes thru thee earths atmosphere it bends and reflacts the sunsets and sunrises on the face of the sun for total lunar eclipse with looks like the blood

Light bends like in water and prisms

Passes thru more atmosphere filtering out more blue light so it looks redorange when its closer to the horizon
