Rotation Vs Revolution
The Earth revolves around the sun

The sky looks like it’s moving but really we’re moving the stars are pretty stationary

A

Cut through the middle of the sun and earth. Other planets are very close to this

Sun going across the -planets
Moon travels almost same travel of sun
Bc move and all planets and stuff
APproximately modeled by the Arc the sun travels thats close to ecliptic plane

Left is counterclockwise fashion thumb up
Right is clockwise fashion thumb down

Northpole is thumb so it’s counterclockwise the earth rotating

Sun rises in east and sets in west
We have to rotate the opposite way in order to see the sun go from east to west

Earth rotates east which makes the sun look like its going to the west

There ryans belt always rises in the east and sets in the west

The sun isnt exactly east or west
Star of mentaca does menetaca

They can fin d east and west if they can find a ryans belt.

Sun moves randomly relative to other stars in the local solar neighborhood

- stars are so far awar that we cannot easilt norice their motion

If the sun was bigger

A

Mass that we do see onlt calulcate 10% of the value

If the sun was more massive

Distranve was same velovity greater time goes down

Moviung faster in orbit same amount of distance then we would be going less than 365 days
One revolution would take a lot less time

100 miles 50mph t hours
100 miles at 100 miles 1 hour

We move faster because of the gravitational pull. If you drop something it would go a lot faster becuse there would be more force on the earth

The rotation would not be affected we still have 24 hours but our Earth year would be signifcantly greater.

Dark matter

A

Matter exudes gravitional force
More matter, more force

Matter is like gravity
We dont see the matter but its causing extra gravitional influcen causing things to move a lot faster

Adronoma is gracitationally bound
Adronoma and Milky way is slowly coming closer to eachother

Galaxy spreading apart is happening in general as the universe expands but expections things that are gravitationally bound like earth and adronoma gravitational influence if we were farther to begin with it wouldnt be affected.

Dark matter affects things in the galaxy not the universe

Dark Energy has to do with the universe oooo

Universe Exapanstion

A

The farther we look out at galaxues (10 billion ly vs 5 billion) The 10 billion is moving away from us at a much faster rate than the 5 billion one. That’s how we know the universe is exanding

(1) ,….. 2 in one hour
(2) 2 now 6 total 4 in one hour
(3)…. 6 in an hour

2,4,6, there’s a rate associated

Ever sitting still?

A

Cosmic Speed Limit is the Speed of Light

Something that tmoves faster than the speed of light is possible but not the way the cosmic speed limit is defined; something moving through space

Shotly after the big bang there was
Superlluminal period of expansion where it went faster than the speed of light

Instead of moving thorugh space youre moving the space around us
Instead of going to the door you manipulate the door to move to me lol

words matter “space expands” all means particular things.
